HOW TO GET CHAM ISLAND

Cano or wooden boats as vehicles to go to Cham Island

Lying 18 kms offshore from Hoi An, Cham Islands (known locally as Cu Lao Cham) features beautiful sea and landscapes. The Island is accessible by speedboat and wooden ferry services.

HOW TO GET CU LAO CHAM ISLAND

– It is about 30km from Da Nang to Cua Dai pier. You can get there by taxi, motor bike, bus or hire car.

– From Hoi An to Cua Dai pier is about 3km, and is accessible by taxi or motorbike (there is a motorbike parking area )

FROM CUA DAI PIER TO CHAM ISLAND

There are two choices:

– Speed boat : It takes around 20 minutes to reach the island thus maximizing your time as all boats depart the island to return to the mainland by 3 pm. This is due to the regular afternoon winds that can create large swells.

– Wooden ferries: It takes around 1.5 hours. Ferries depart from Bach Dang dock from 8am (you should arrive earlier to get a seat). For the return trip ferries depart the island at 1 pm.

THINGS TO BRING

– Towel, swimwear

–  For overnight stays – jacket, pants in the event the temperature drops at night and toiletries, as limited availability on the island

– Sunscreen, insect repellent.

– Caps, hats, and umbrellas.

– Mineral water
